1. What is ACCUPLACER?
ACCUPLACER is a suite of computerized tests that determines your knowledge in math, reading and writing as you prepare to enroll in college-level courses. The results of the assessment, in conjunction with your academic background, goals and interests, are used by academic advisors and counselors to place you into a college course that meets your skill level.

2. Can I fail ACCUPLACER?
You cannot "pass" or "fail" ACCUPLACER tests, but it is very important that you do your very best on these tests so that you will have an accurate measure of your academic skills.

3. Are ACCUPLACER Tests timed?
The multiple choice ACCUPLACER tests are untimed. The WritePlacer® test may be timed or untimed depending on your institution’s rules and regulations.

4. How do I make an appointment to take ACCUPLACER?
To schedule your ACCUPLACER appointment, please contact or stop by your institution’s advising and counseling office. If you are not close to your campus, call your institution’s advising and counseling office for a testing alternative.

5. How many questions are on the ACCUPLACER test?
The number of questions varies depending on which ACCUPLACER assessment you take. There could be as few as 12 questions or as many as 40.

6. Are there study materials for the ACCUPLACER test?
ACCUPLACER has useful study tools available for students. You can purchase The Official ACCUPLACER Study App in the iTunes Store (compatible with iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad), or a web-based version of this application. You may also download the free PDF ACCUPLACER Study Guide for Students.

Contact your institution’s test center to learn more about remote testing options. With the permission of both institutions, you may be able to take ACCUPLACER at a local college or have an authorized proctor oversee your test at a secure facility.
